How we estimate useful life

These are judgment-based estimates of economical life, allowing normal maintenance and repairs. Age is considered at roughly 15,000 future miles per year. They are not measured lifespan forecasts.

We use the same total-life assumptions as the previous report: CX-50 Hybrid and RAV4: 230,000; CX-5: 220,000; HR-V and Outback: 210,000; Hyundai/Kia models: 200,000; Kicks Play: 170,000 miles. Subtract current mileage and round remaining miles down to 5,000.

Condition, service records, age and repair exposure can change the result. Small differences between scores are uncertain.

What’s included in the price?

Prices include the stated transport charge and advertised required dealer fees. Government taxes, title and registration are excluded.

CarMax vehicles transfer to its Jackson-area store for local pickup. The Driveway CX-50 includes home delivery to ZIP 39056.

The CX-50 total includes advertised dealer fees. Financing or residency conditions still need reconciliation in a written seller quote.

What changed since the last search?

The Kicks Play beats the previous unrestricted winner by 2.9%: 8,109 versus 7,883. The local 2025 HR-V is a newer alternative with no transfer charge.

The former Premium-group CX-5 is now pickup-only in Florida, so it was removed. The previous Mitsubishi is reserved by someone else. Apparent bargains with reported collision histories were excluded from this clean-history shortlist.

The Tucson Limited costs $3,250 less than the previous Tucson and scores slightly higher, 6,452 versus 6,420. No eligible new listing beat the previous Premium or ventilated-seat records.
